Introduced during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the BMW M6 Coupe featured a newly redesigned powertrain along with a more capable suspension, Merino leather upholstery, a more powerful engine, a carbon fiber roof and a 7-speed M-DCT dual-clutch transmission. In 2019, the BMW M8 Coupe (F91) succeeded the BMW M6 Coupe (F13).
BMW M6 Coupe (2012-2018)
The BMW M6 Coupe (produced from 2012 through 2018) was equipped with a twin turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 that could generate 560hp and 500 lb.-ft. of torque. Direct fuel injection and an electronically actuated limited-slip rear differential made it possible for the BMW M6 Coupe to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 4.0-seconds. The BMW M6 Coupe had a top speed of 155 mph or 190 mph with the M Driver’s Package.
A more capable version of the BMW M6 Coupe was revealed in 2014. The BMW M6 Coupe Competition was powered by the same 4.4-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine – now tuned to produce 600hp and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. The BMW M6 Coupe Competition could accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.5-seconds. Other improvements to the BMW M6 Coupe Competition included 20-inch wheels and an even more capable suspension.
