Audi R8 Performance in Tampa Bay / Orlando

Designed, developed, and built by Audi Sport AG, the Audi R8 is a high-performance, mid-engine, all-wheel drive, two-seater sports car which shares a platform with Lamborghini (initially the Gallardo and later, the Huracan). The Audi R8 is constructed around an aluminum monocoque space frame.

Gen I Audi R8 Type 42 (2006-2015)

Based on the Audi Le Mans Quattro Concept, the Audi R8 made its initial debut during the 2003 Geneva Motor Show and the 2003 Frankfurt International Motor Show. The production version of the Audi R8 was finally introduced at the Paris Auto Show in 2006. Key variants of the Audi R8 Type 42 included the Audi R8 4.2 FSI (V8 engine) and the Audi R8 5.2 FSI (V10 engine). In 2008, convertible models of the Audi R8 were introduced. They were given the name Audi R8 Spyder. Higher performance Audi R8 GT models were unveiled in 2011 and the Audi R8 V10 Plus was added to the lineup in 2012.

Gen II Audi R8 Type 4S (2015-present)

Based on the modular sports frame platform shared with the Lamborghini Huracan, the second-generation Audi R8 Type 4S made its debut during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Model variants included the Audi R8 e-Tron (an all-electric model), the Audi R8 5.2 FSI, and the Audi R8 V10 Plus. The Audi R8 Spyder (convertible) was added in 2016, along with a high-performance Audi R8 V10 Plus Spyder (2017) and a rear-wheel-drive Audi R8 RWS (2017).

In 2018 a mid-cycle refresh brought mechanical and aesthetic improvements to the Audi R8 lineup. The current (2020) Audi R8 V10 Plus model is equipped with a naturally aspirated V10 engine that can produce 611hp and 417 lb.-ft. of torque. The 2020 Audi R8 V10 Plus is capable of blasting from 0 to 60 mph in 3-seconds.
